Dreaming Under a Cedar Tree
Dreaming Under a Cedar Tree, created and performed by Sharon Mansur with contributions from various artists and Mansur family members, is a contemporary dance performance/visual installation event inviting people to share art, food and conversation, reflecting on Sharon Mansur’s Lebanese heritage, the complex and fluid nature of cultural identity, and the power of place in our dreams. DUCT was developed with support from a Springboard for the Arts HINGE Arts Residency in Fergus Falls, MN, the Inverse Performance Art Festival (Arkansas & California) and Art of the Rural. DUCT premiered at Public Launch in downtown Winona during Fall 2017, and inspired the creation of The Cedar Tree Project in 2018.
This event was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
