Dreaming Under a Cedar Tree
Sharon Mansur’s re-imagined Dreaming Under a Cedar Tree, premiered in spring 2019 at St. Mary's University's Page Theatre outdoor campus, lobby, theatre and stage, and was a site inspired multi-media reimagining of her 2017 event at Art of the Rural's Public Launch community space in downtown Keoxa/Winona. For two evenings Mansur engaged an intimate 75 person audience through dance, visual art, video, music, food, and conversation with a Middle Eastern flavor. She drew from her Lebanese heritage, family history, personal experiences and current events, and invited the audience to consider the power of place in their dreams.
The 2018-2019 Cedar Tree Project season was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
